β Participate in community service and civic groups to obtain information and seek support of these groups in charitable activities on behalf of the facility
β Contact the news media when new programs, promotions, etc., are implemented within the facility that will be beneficial to the facility and community alike
β Keep the Administrator informed of newspaper, radio and television accounts of noteworthy items of general interest that may have an impact on our facility or the regulations that govern our facility
β During emergencies, establish a public relations area to assure that the release of information is accurate and within the scope of our established policies governing the release of information during emergency conditions
β Assist department directors in the planning, conducting, and scheduling of in service training classes, on the job training and orientation programs concerning the facilityβs marketing and public relations programs and activities
β Create and maintain a budget for the department and allocate resources to carry out programs and activities of the facility
β Serve on various committees of the facility as directed by the Administrator
β Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information
β Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information
β Interpret resident rights to the resident, family, and staff personnel as necessary or appropriate
ASSUMPTION: This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education: Bachelorβs Degree from an accredited college/university, or equivalent (Five (5) years experience in marketing/public relations in a health care setting may be recognized in lieu of a Bachelorβs Degree.)
Experience: 5-10 years of experience in marketing/public relations, preferably in a healthcare setting.
