Key aspects of this role include:
ASSUMPTION: This role requires a high level of strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills to drive marketing efforts across multiple divisions and teams.
β Primarily responsible for building alignment with Senior Vice President-GMMs in the development and implementation of marketing strategies for two merchandise divisions and all supporting categories
β Ensure Category Marketing Specialists and Divisional Merchandising Manager(s) align on Marketing priorities, category positioning, and key consumer messages that lead to the development and execution of Category Marketing briefs
β Drive alignment of seasonal sales strategies, category priorities, key campaign messages, and customer initiatives through submission of seasonal marketing briefs
β Work with Sr Director Category Marketing to create centralized go-to-market plan
β Serve as category central communication point for Tier 1 planning and execution to downstream marketing channels
β Lead in identifying, exploring, evaluating, and recommending new opportunities in support of division objectives β from customer solutions to marketing and promotional initiatives
β Maintain knowledge of industry competitive and best in class marketing for assigned division(s) and overarching business categories
β Drive accountability in GTM Marketing Calendars and item submission processes to ensure the most efficient workflow to keep projects on track while meeting production deadlines
β Oversee Category Specialists and partner with 3rd party agency on production and proofing of weekly advertising materials
β Cross-functional leadership of marketing projects for assigned divisions including product launches, sales action plans, promotions, and clearance exercises
β Actively assist Sr. Director Category Marketing in the people leader development and coaching of any new Manager Category Marketing team member
β Oversee planning and execution of the annual co-op budget and ensure monthly budgeting deadlines are met
β Acquire and develop supporting team members in line with Talent Brand Promise
β Develop a thorough understanding of Academyβs policies, procedures, and safety rules
β Duties may change; team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned

Education: Bachelorβs Degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field required
Experience: 7+ years of experience in a large retail environment, consumer package goods, or advertising agency that serves Fortune 500 companies. 2+ years of management experience with a strong people development background.
